AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

US Citizen in the local commuting area who are authorized sponsors or command-sponsored dependents of civilian and military personnel.

INTRODUCTION:

The purpose of the position is to serve as a contact point for information and perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the CYP, which includes Child Development Centers (CDCs), Child Development Homes (CDH), School Age Care (SAC) Programs and Youth Programs (YP).

DUTIES:

Incumbent performs a combination of duties related to one or more components of the CYP, which are related to:

Record Keeping and Reporting: Prepares and maintain assigned reports, correspondence, and statistical/financial data pertaining to components within the CYP Division. Ensures child enrollment paperwork is complete and current. Reviews background checks. Maintain office records. Provides information to requesting agencies. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports in compliance with reporting policies. Notifies supervisor of any discrepancies and problems that cannot be resolved.

Liaison with Families and Programs: Provides front desk coverage, logs children, answer questions regarding programs and services, events, policies and procedures. Inform to CDH providers about trainings, certification process, etc. Takes telephone calls and responds to inquiries, referring call as appropriate.

Fees and Supplies: Collects fees and records payments in accordance with proper procedures. Complete DARs and ensure proper deposit of funds. Responsible for monitoring supplies and resources and notify supervisor of items that need to be ordered.

Additional Responsibilities: Serves to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services in case of incidences of child abuse and neglect.

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be able to speak, read and write English. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School diploma, or equivalent education AND 2 years of administrative experience.

Applicant must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Knowledge of administrative support functions and general office automation software. Ability to maintain a computerized database and accurate reports and records.

Skill in cash handling is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This position requires successful completion of: physical examination, Local Background Investigation and CNACI Background.
  • Position is subject to special inoculation and immunization requirements as a condition of employment for working with children. Employee is required to obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which includes the influenza vaccine.
  • Incumbent must satisfactorily obtain or complete required training certificates and maintain certifications or credentials required by federal, state or National Accreditation institutions utilized as part of DOD’s Child and Youth Programs.
  • Selectee will not lose entitlement for future spouse preference eligibility (NAF/GS positions)
  • Selectee is subject to direct deposit of pay
  • Positions are subject to an uncommon tour of duty, rotating and split shifts.
  • Persons who are Not-US Citizens and persons who are US Citizens and also citizens of Spain are not employable in a US Position.
  • NATO SOFA and Agreement on Defense Cooperation (ADC) between Spain and the United States are applicable when determining eligibility.
