Rota Animal Welfare League

The Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is an all-volunteer animal shelter located on Naval Station Rota, Spain. We've been dedicated to connecting Americans and Spanish with dogs and cats that have been rescued from within the community since 1989. RAWL is an organization that relies on volunteers of Rota, Spain to find homes for pets in need.

RAWL Adoption

RAWL is in the business of connecting dogs and cats with new families. Take a look at our lovable fur babies (click here for cats / click here for dogs) that we are holding on to for you.  If you are interested, take a look at the adoption paperwork too!

RAWL Volunteer

RAWL depends on Naval Station Rota community members to help care for our dogs and cats. Regardless of military affiliation, community support is vital. If you're interested in getting involved, we offer volunteer training shifts the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Volunteer training: Interested volunteers do need to sign up ahead of time.  Sign up can be completed via

Help Out RAWL

RAWL is volunteer-run and doesn't receive any outside funding. If you would like to help us keep things running, there are a lot of options! We are always in need of pet supplies, food, kitty litter, blankets, toys, etc. To help the pets feel at home, feel free to drop off any of these items during office hours.
