AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

US Citizens in the local commuting area that are: current permanent NAF/APF employees, spouses or family members of Active Duty Military members, or spouses or family members of DoD Civilian Employees.

 

INTRODUCTION:

This position is located within the Support Services Rota, Spain. The primary purpose of this position is to operate as material handler in Central Warehouse.

 

DUTIES:

Performs warehouse work involving receiving, storing, and shipping a variety of bin and bulk supplies,

material, equipment and commodities. Work involves unloading, stacking, binning, rotating and marking

stocks. Verifies incoming/outgoing shipping documents. Uses automated material identification equipment such as bar codes, wands, computers, laser scanners, etc. Uses common hand tools such hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers as well as hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and electric lifts.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and storage areas in order to place, pull, move, arrange and rotate items per established procedures. Ability to complete appropriate forms relating to stock descriptions, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling

requirements for incoming/outgoing materials. Ability to use computer terminal and manual dollies, electric lifts, and hand tools. Ability to identify obvious damage to materials through visual inspections.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This position requires successful completion of: physical examination, Local Background Investigation and NACI Background.

  • The position requires incumbent to stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, bends, stoops, and work in tiring and sometime uncomfortable positions. May lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Work is performed inside and outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, and  poorly lighted. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc.

 

  • Selected applicant will not lose any entitlement for future spouse preference eligibility (NAF/GS positions)

  • Selected is subject to direct deposit of pay

  • Persons who are Not-US Citizens and persons who are US Citizens and also citizens of Spain are not employable in a US Position.

  • NATO SOFA and Agreement on Defense Cooperation (ADC) between Spain and the United States are applicable when determining eligibility.
